Couple tying the knot in a handfasting ceremony in front of hired bright broken archway with neon sign

Bright summer wedding at The Great Barn

The Great Barn at Headstone Manor is a large rustic-style barn that has been beautifully restored to be a wedding and events venue on the outskirts of London.

Our fun-loving couple opted for bright tropical colours, natural styling and a celebrant-led ceremony. Tutu from Prime Violet Events pulled together a team of fab suppliers and managed the day so that Sia and Jason could be present and enjoy the day.

The ceremony

Sia and Jason's first kiss!

Dorothy played her harp beautifully before the ceremony and as Sia walked down the aisle to Jason, and between the ceremony and reception too! She chose to perform a lovely mixture of classic songs and modern arrangements.

With a celebrant ceremony, the rule book is thrown out of the window. The ceremony can instead be personalised to the couple, unique and full of fun!

Sam from SD Celebrations created a highly personalised ceremony full of fun touches. Being a couple who often made decisions with a game of rock, paper, scissors Sam included a game of that and also a game of Mr and Mrs too.

The Reception

Stories event hire created a lovely relaxing area and photo backdrop. Bringing in the bright colours through the soft furnishings and showcasing Lightbulb Moment's Neon signage. Ensuring there were lovely spaces for photographs should the British Weather not be on our side.

Sia and Jason take a moment to pose for photos before the wedding breakfast.

Turns out the weather WAS on our side, following a quick change for Sia, into a more casual dress and iconic hat.

Sia's iconic hat was decorated with a flower crown to make it extra special for the day.

For couples photos, Sia and Jason chose to hire Stories Event Hire's lovely swing as a special place to take some posed couple shots.

The wedding breakfast

Opting for long tables, which is always super popular for barn weddings, we chose pops of colour, rattan placemats, mixed candles, colourful glassware and small disco balls. Placed on a crisp white tablecloth. A mix of bud vases and larger arrangements were placed in the centre of the long tables to bring floral elements while providing space for guests to enjoy their meal.

A moment for the cake

Fans of cakes and sweet treats, Sia and Jason chose a 3 tier textured wedding cake. It was placed in the centre of a faux flower meadow and displayed on a log slice to tie in with the barn venue. Bal's Cakery also provided a selection of sweet treats and cookies for the evening.
